Being self-employed gives flexibility but it also takes flexibility. In the last three weeks, life has been a roller coaster of work, work, work.
My husband and I work together in the real world during the day, and I write about Richard and Fannie at night. Many of you who blog, live that night owl writing lifestyle.
This week, I planned two posts. You read the Myrna Loy post over at the BoFN on Tuesday. Today was supposed to be Richard and Fannie’s return to regular programming.
Love threw up a road block with the strength of amorous skunks on a hot August afternoon.
The time I normally devote to writing instead has been spent talking on the phone with my husband—who is traveling for the next two weeks—like we were high school sweethearts. I bumped up the minutes on our phone plan.
With all this long distance romance, a song lodged itself into my head—the proverbial ear worm. And if I were to write a book called, “The Naughties Guide to Innocent Behavior”, then this would be rule number 13—If you can’t get a tune out of your head, infect as many people as possible by sharing the wealth. (It’s replacing coal as a stocking stuffer this Christmas.) 😉
So here is a clip from The Caddy with Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis performing—That’s Amoré—the song that’s stuck in my head.
Gentlemen, take it away.
“Bells will ring ting-a-ling-a-ling. . .”
Until next week mi amore. Ciao!
*SWOON* Oh, Fannie. I am all for “I have so much to tell you and we just can’t stop talking and you make me want to use all the WORDS” romance – obviously. 😉 I loved this post!
And!! I swear I’m not making this up, but guess what my driver was singing when I was on the way in to work this morning ….

Amb–that is so cool. First of all, for the swoon, secondly that your driver this morning was singing That’s Amore.
I’ve been singing it all week!

Alright….THAT made my morning! I’m sure you have successfully planted that song in my head for the rest of the day, but I’m pretty OK with that! I, too, will have the long distance relationship this week and next. AND I like your book idea and title! LOL

Hey L–Good Morning! Now I know my “evil” plan is working. Say hi to P for me. Stay sane this week.
I’m sure the “Naughties” will sell like hot cakes this Christmas. lol.

I totally want more of these “naughties”! Have mentioned to amb before that it helps to be seen as one of the good guys, because when you need to get your can of whoop-a$$ (I’m quoting a friend on that phrase, but admit to really really liking it) out, you can usually get away with it sans major consequences. 😉
I’m all over having this song in my head for as long as it wants to stay. (much better than amb’s Family Feud earworm–now THAT was naughty 😉 )
And I love that you and your husband miss each other when he’s away and have reverted to teen-age romance behavior. How sweet is that? My husband is way on the top of my list of Favorite People, but I don’t tend to give him such an amorous soundtrack.
Hope there are more Special Ed’s to come. Enjoyed this very much!

Liz, I love that you have a can of whoop a$$. That image just cracks me up.
Well I may just have to add Special Editions to the line-up. Thanks for the feedback.
