A Special Edition: If You Build It They Will Come

Psst, I’ve got a secret. Hidden on a small patch of land, in a small neighborhood, in a small town on the west coast of the United States, is a graveyard. It materialized like the town of Brigadoon.

Don’t tell.

For weeks now we have been building our Halloween parent bait in the hopes that if you build it, they will come—bringing scads of Trick or Treaters to our front door Halloween night.

It started with the digging of the Pit of Despair. Check.

What to do with all that dirt? The moles figured it out.

Next, the arrival of the alien mummy. Check. Check.

I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't decorated it myself.

With a cat for guardian. Check. Check. Check.

Would you really want to mess with that cat?

The traffic in our neighborhood is on the uptick. The extended weather forecast suggests clear skies for October 31st.

Special Edition’s come with music. This week’s featured song from The Pierces, “Secret”.

Shhhh. Don’t tell.

    • Isn’t that video something else. I heard the song once on an alternative radio station in Bellingham during a road trip a couple years ago. It stuck like peanut butter. The whole feeling of being on some sort of creepy merry-go-round. When I found the video, I couldn’t resist.

Apparently, it’s the theme song for a TV show called “Pretty Little Liars”.
