The Winter of ’07 Kicks the Spring of ’17

Our spring weather is still hanging out with the lion. Cool, windy, dark, rainy, with a few tantalizing sun breaks. After combing through old photo albums, I reconnected with these photos and counted this year’s spring lion in the blessing column while waiting for the lamb.

I’d take rain over frozen salt water any day. Brr.

The gray pall of winter clung to the harbor. Boats trapped in ice. No saltwater smell. No birds in the sky. No seagulls squawking. Snow dusted the frozen water. The harbor spoke with the change in the tide. Creak. Groan. Pop.

This is how I count my blessings.

Let’s face it, the winter of ’07 kicks the spring of ’17.

Spring of ’17, I appreciate your green leaves growing, the rhododendrons budding, and the daffodils fading. Little-spring-weather-lamb we’re here waiting for you.

    • Well it’s warming up now. The overnight low last night beat the daytime high. Go figure. Now we have thunderstorms in the forecast. Hope all is warm and dry on your end today!
