A Special Edition: The Halloween Countdown 2018

A Special Edition: The Halloween Countdown 2018

Only 27 days stand between us and Halloween and only 24 days left until our second annual “You’re Never to Old to Trick or Treat” Day.

We sent out this postcard to all the local assisted living communities in the area.

Trick or Treat. We prefer to give the treat. Just saying.

We have no idea how many people will attend this year. One of the local coffee shops is displaying our postcard to help get the word out. Perhaps we will get double the trouble this year . . .

This is our sixteenth year haunting our small town. In that time some new friends have found their way into the graveyard.

The kraken beckons all those brave enough to enter.

Calling to the seafaring folk of our maritime village.

Gren, the woodland spirit—an Ent of no mean proportion, suffers from day glow. But come nightfall he will greet the unsuspecting Trick or Treaters.

He traveled from Middle Earth to join us. The Ents are among us.

If you don’t show up on October 31st, you’ll miss the show.

By 11:51 p.m. the decorations will disappear from sight and only a lone string of Christmas lights wrapping the eves of our home will greet any late comers.

Happy haunting everyone!

Ciao,

Fannie

The kraken reminds me of that eerie scene in Beetlejuice. Your wreath is chillingly real. You’d be proud of us, as we’re the only folks on our block with any Halloween decorations: a tree ghost, three lit pumpkins, and a tombstone. Hey, it’s a start. But it won’t make kids pee their pants like yours…

    • You have warmed the cockles of my heart. I love that you decorate for Halloween. Great things come from small beginnings. 🙂

I’d forgotten about the scene from Beetle Juice. It is very creepy. I will have to YouTube it to refresh my memory.

As to our yard. It is a bit intimidating. One of the neighborhood kids brought one of her friends by our place after school on Monday. She said, “The tombstones are funny, but this place is scary too.” Who doesn’t like to be a little scared every once in a while? Even if it’s only pretend.
