Every few years, the weeds in my yard get away from me. The weeds become my white whale and I become Ahab obsessed with their obliteration.
So far the weeds are winning. I spend thirty minutes every day attempting to tame the wild weeds. After filling the yard waste bin twice, this is as far as I’ve gotten.
Finally there is visible progress, only 10,000 more feet of yard to go. Woohoo!
Unlike Ahab, I am earning Popeye arms. Some sacrifices are worth the effort.
Have you ever gotten behind with your gardening? How did you catch up?
I am impressed! I have no skill for gardening at all and, therefore, little patience for it. Happily I have four kids who I have taught to weed.

You are brilliant. I have no children. By the end of summer my arms won’t fit in my sleeves. LOL.

But you will also be fitter and healthier than me.

We gave up on our garden. Nothing grows in drought, and the city water is in the hundreds if you water a small patch. Good luck on your 10,000!

Thanks. So far we are not in a drought so the city doesn’t charge an arm, leg, left kidney and the first born . . . yet.

I must admit that gardening is a chore which I don’t enjoy. However I have a small garden which is I just about manage. I have been leaving the dandelions as the bees love them but now I think I need to thin them out. Enjoy your garden.

Thanks for dropping by. Gardening is not my favorite activity, but I count it as exercise. At least that’s what I keep telling myself when I obsess over weeds.
